The De Rigo Vision Group signs the exclusive YAMAMAY for STING Eyewear licence
04/03/2010
Longarone, March 4, 2010. De Rigo Vision Spa and Inticom Spa have signed an exclusive dual branding agreement that marks the partnership between STING, the youngest and most glamorous of the three brands of the De Rigo Group, and YAMAMAY, thereby combining the 25-year expertise and strength of an eyewear brand with an unmistakably sexy and sparkling fashion brand which, founded only in 2001, has rapidly become extremely successful.
The licence will last for 5 years, starting from February 2010, and has an international coverage; other than in Italy, the brand Yamamay for Sting will be sold by subsidiaries and independent distributors.
Yamamay for Sting eyewear will be distributed through a selected network of opticians and at Yamamay’s flagship stores in Italy and abroad, at a highly competitive final price.
“We are pleased to be able to further strengthen our partnership with Yamamay, which started roughly one year ago, thanks to this agreement, said Barbara De Rigo, the House Brands Manager of the De Rigo Vision S.p.A. Group, our partnership has already proved to be successful and has produced concrete results. We are ready to create new eyewear projects in the name of the highest aesthetic and quality standards, thanks to fashionable and sophisticated frames and exclusive working techniques.”
"To be able to work hand in hand with the De Rigo group in this new project is a real honour, other than a guarantee of success, commented Gianluigi Cimmino, CEO of Inticom S.p.A. To start working in the eyewear business with such an experienced group means that we are bound to succeed. To convey Yamamay’s sexy, alluring and fun mood into an eyewear collection is a new challenge that we will thoroughly enjoy and that will allow us to acquire new skills”.
This agreement arises out of the two companies’ relationship based on mutual and consolidated esteem - both of them are leaders in the eyewear and underwear markets, respectively - and out of a careful market analysis that has underlined the two brands’ common values and targets.
Yamamay for Sting eyewear and sunwear collections stand out for their alluring design, which recreates the evocative patterns and colours of Yamamay’s underwear and beachwear, thereby creating a fun, must-have accessory.
The first products resulting from this project will be exhibited at Mido 2010 in an extremely appealing corner area dedicated to the new brand, supported by a strong press campaign that will be highly evocative of sun, exotic flowers and beaches, conveying a stimulating visual message with a strong impact on the final consumer. A more complete sunwear collection will be launched in September.
De Rigo is a worldwide leader in the design, production and distribution of high-end, top quality glasses, and is one of the most important optical goods retailers in Europe thanks to the chains General Optica (Spain and Portugal), Boots Opticians (UK) and Opmar Optik (Turkey), owned by the Group. The Group’s products are designed in Italy and are distributed across some 80 countries all over the world, especially in Europe, Asia and in the Americas. The company distributes its products through its own brands - Lozza, Police, Sting – and through licensed brands - Celine, Chopard, Ermenegildo Zegna, Escada, Etro, Fila Eyewear, Furla, Jean Paul Gaultier, Givenchy, Loewe, Switch it, Tous and Victor Hugo.
